THE SHEPHERD'S HUT
SLEEPS 2

UNPLUG, RELAX, REST
Perfect for one or two people who desire nothing more than time to switch off and get back to basics, without giving up a comfy bed.

The newest arrival at Big Sky, the Shepherd's Hut enjoys its own quiet patch with unbroken views across our tree planting meadow.

We see it as the ideal escape for a campfire-centric break in nature, or as a pod where creative juices can run wild. Whether you plan on spending quality time with a book or working on your next novel, we've got you covered.

The Hut boasts an extendable bed which slides out from a large single to a healthy double, a wood burning stove, stable door and a fold-out table. It's worth noting that the hut is exactly 6 foot wide, so if you're in that region of height a full stretch out on the bed will mean your toes encounter a wall! Our Dave is 5' 11 and needs to sleep diagonally in there. So if you're very tall the Shepherd's Hut may not be ideal if you're planning to come with a friend!

Although the Hut is built without electrics we've installed a smart little solar-powered system which will ensure you've plenty of light even when the sun goes down.

If you'd like to use the Hut as a place to catch up with work, we offer an add-on extra including a solar generator, which can easily keep your laptop and phone charged throughout your stay.

Just outside you'll find a firebowl, grill and seating. We can even bring over a hammock on a stand if you'd prefer!

We plan to create a private restroom and basic outdoor kitchen for the hut by Spring 2023, and we should say that the door for hut is prone to warping in the winter, and while it pulls shut there may be small gaps in the frame (but fear not, we camped in there during the winter's coldest night (-7!) and the log burner kept us super toasty!

Hire of the Shepherd's Hut includes:

We're always happy to discuss discounts for anyone who fancies a longer stay writing a book or doing creative stuff!

While we love animals we can't allow pets on site as they stress our alpacas out.

PS. If you're not a fan of bugs, flies, spiders, fresh air, the distant sound of tractors or cows or anything much to do with being outside in the countryside, our site may not be your ideal getaway!

We'll do everything we can to make your stay at Big Sky as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. We love surprising our guests and making your stay unique so if you have any ideas we might be able to help with don't hesitate to ask :)

COOL FACT
After seeing our episode on Ben Fogle's Make a New Life in the Country (S2 E2) we were contacted by a lady named Louise who offered us her Shepherd's Hut for a year! How cool!
